Am I Eligible to Participate?
If you are not eligible for one of our upcoming clinical trials, because of smoking/medications/BMI, you may qualify for our Leukapheresis procedure. To qualify you must pass a screening exam and meet the following:
- Healthy
- Study protocol usually requires that you have a weight of at least 110 lbs if you are male and 105 lbs if you are female and a normal Body Mass Index (BMI) between 19kg/m2 and 40kg/m2. Body Mass Index, referred to as BMI is a measure that adults can use to see if they have healthy weight for their height. Generally speaking a person who is 5 feet tall weighing 153 lbs and a person who is 6 feet tall weighing 221 lbs have a BMI of 30, which is the upper range listed for BMI in most of our study protocols.
- Not have participated in a research study or received an investigational drug within the past 30 days
- Not have already been a Leukapheresis donor more than 6 times in any given 12 months
- No history of alcohol or drug abuse within the past 12 months
- You are permitted to have a past history or current use of tobacco products
- You are permitted to be on birth control and certain medications (this can be determined during screening)
